Burnt Hillside

During our trip to Canada in 2008, we took a hike up to Stanley Glacier.  As we climbed up the hill, we walked though a large burn that had taken a large part of the hillside.  The devastation was all around and was sad to see, but it made for an interesting backdrop.  I decided […]

Graffiti Explosion

I found shooting the Graffiti we stumbled upon during one of our Walk n’ Shoots a little difficult.  It was all really good art and I found myself just wanting to capture the entire piece, but I started finding that a little boring from the photographic perspective so I started looking for the hidden gems […]

Frosted Fall Colors

The snow decided to take it’s time coming to the Denver area this year and we didn’t see any snow until the middle of November.  The trees still had much of their color and were frosted by the snowfall.  So I decided to grab my camera and head out before work to take a few […]

Stream of Light

While on our Walk n’ Shoot down at Auraria Campus, we hung out around by one of the Light Rail stations and waited for the train to come around to get some long exposures of it passing by.  The effect was a fantastic stream of light as the train passed by.  The train came by […]

Glow Against the Sky

Another shot from the Colorado Balloon Classic down in Colorado Springs.  As they start getting their balloons ready, they have to fluff them up before they start pumping it full of hot air.  So they use fans to fill the balloon with air.  This combined with the early morning sun behind the balloon can make […]

Denver Skyline at Night

One of our first walk n’ shoots with the ƒ/1.2 Photography Group was a night shoot downtown.  We took to Auraria Campus with our cameras and tripods in hand and looked for the many interesting places at night.  We headed atop a parking garage to get some shots of the Denver skyline and ended up […]

Sleepy Graffiti

While on another Walk n’ Shoot with our ƒ/1.2 Photography Club, we found some great Graffiti.  This is one of the shots of a storefront that was covered with art.  There was even more graffiti around the corner that I hope to post a few photos of later.

Floating Away

Over Labor Day Weekend, we decided to head down to Colorado Springs for the Colorado Balloon Classic which is held there each year.  I went for the early morning launch on Saturday to enjoy both the sunrise and also watch the balloonist prepare their balloons for launch.  We also met up with an old friend […]

Web of Love

I took my first trip ever to New York back in the fall of 2009 to visit family and to be a tourist and see all the sites I’ve heard so much about.  We visited many places over the course of a week and feet sure hurt especially on this day.  We walked all over, […]

Devils Punch Bowl

During our trip to Oregon in 2008, we traveled up the coast and stayed at Otter Crest which appears on the cliff in this photo. A short walk from Otter Crest is the Devils Punch Bowl where wonderful views of the Oregon coast await. The punch bowl is actually to the left of this photo […]
