I’ve tried a few time in the past to successfully get a picture that shows spiraling star trails but haven’t had much luck.  Well I think I finally figured it out!  I took a number of star trail photos while we were camping over last weekend, but this one was my favorite.  I really liked the trees and the glimpse of our camp site as well.  This shot was a 16 minute exposure, ISO 400, f8 @ 10mm.  I can’t wait to get out and have another shot at it, but first I need to buy more batteries.  If you haven’t ever done long exposures, it really drains your battery.  I went though a battery every night while we were camping.  So be prepared if you are ever going to go shooting the stars!
