How a Lightsaber Works

Just to keep you pumped up for Episode III, I thought I would pass along some educational Starwars information. How Stuff Works has posted a page about how Lightsabers work. You can learn all about the inner workings of a Lightsaber and their common and more un-common uses. Remember to be careful when trimming those hedges!! Oh, and if anyone wants to buy me a lightsaber so I can cut my bagels, get me one from here [site seems to be down right now...].

Google Web Accelerator - Good or Bad?

Google announced yesterday the availability of their new Web Accelerator for use with Internet Explorer or Firefox. The accelerator uses Google's machines as proxies to do it's work. According to their pages, they cache web pages, images, cookies, etc to speed up your web surfing experience. Now I'm all about surfing the web faster, but I don't know how I feel about all this information Google is collecting. This comment on /. pretty much explains how I'm feeling about all this too. So just be cautious all you out there. Google is a good company...but they are starting to get a LOT of information about all of us.
