Spaceball Sequal in the works?!?

Looks like Mel Brooks is at it again! In a recent interview, he told Playbill magazine that he is working on a sequal to the great 80's hit Spaceballs. When asked when the movie will be released, he said: "Best case scenario: a week before the new Star Wars opens. Worst Case Scenario: a year after the new star wars opens."

Spaceballs is one of my all time favorite movies, so I can't wait till this one comes out! May the Swartz Be With Youoouuoououououwhahha...

Thoughts about MMORPGs

Code Masters sent me a survey about MMOs and at the end there was a comments section. So all the thoughts I've had about why I don't play MMOs started pouring out. I thought I would post them here too just in case they take my idea and run with it so I can have braggin rights. ;)

MMOs require too much time from the players. I have tried playing many MMOs including FFXI, SWG, many betas, etc. I always find I stop playing because I don't have the time to log in every night, or even every other night and I always go back to my console RPG games (Fable is my addiction right now) because they don't require me to put in my hour each night to get somewhere. I can progress at the pace I want to.

Read the extended story to see the rest

I would love to see an MMO that allows you to play online and offline with the same character. A game that takes into account that I can't logon every night and attend to my cloning factories and farms, or pump money into my factories to keep them running every night. I just want to be able to progress in my offline time frame, and then if I want, I can logon to the online community and play with friends. Go on missions, battle fiends, jointly build something, etc AND keep all the experience, items, key quest completions, etc that I gained while playing with my friends online. I realize there are a lot of things to think about there, like how do you allow a lvl 5 person go on a misson to kill a 60 Ton Dragon. But hey, if they want to go get stommped by the dragon while his lvl 70 friends watch and laugh, so be it! Let him!

Anyway...that is my 2 cents. I was sad to see that Dragon Empires isn't going to happen...but I probably wouldn't have played it any way because I don't have time...

Good luck

A9 Search Engine - Amazon's Try at Searching the Web

Amazon has finally released their new search engine A9. It doesn't seem better than Google, but it does have some interesting user interface features. Over on the right (after you do a search), there are some buttons that show more results divided by result type. For example, click on Books and a new column appears with books matching your search. You can even dynamically resize the column width! Pretty cool for a web site.

The other interesting feature is that the results are all from Google. They don't even do their own searching, they just massage them. They also let you know if a result is new, old, already visited, etc. These are all the features I have seen in it so far, but it is a good start in the right direction for new web search engines.

Ahh...Good 'Ol Senior Pictures

We all remember our senior pictures. Some were good, others we hated, and some were just down right funny. Check these ones out for a good laugh!

Ninjai - The Little Ninja

If you know me, you probably know that I like Ninjas and martial arts stuff. A while back, I stumbled upon a really good little cartoon called Ninjai - The Little Ninja. The cartoon is done completely in Flash and is very well done. It is a great use of flash if you ask me.

The artists at Ninjai are very talented. The story is cute (with the little bird that is...the rest is sort of blood and ninja stuff...hehe), and I can't wait till the next episodes are released. I would just like to send a shout out to the makers of Ninjai and let them know that we are all waiting calmly for the next few episodes and we don't mind that it is taking a while.

So for all of you who like Ninja stuff, check this story out!!

Another Ninja cartoon that is really good is Ninja Scroll. It is a Japanese Anime flick that we used to watch back in High School. That is also a really good one though. So check that out if you into ninjas.

What would you want in a PDA?

Someone over at Slashdot posted an Ask Slashdot question asking "What is your Palmtop nirvana?" There are some intresting answers, and I just posted mine, but I wanted keep my ideas here as well. So read on for my palmtop nirvana.

Why hasn't any one asked for a PDA with a Hard drive? I currently have a Sony Clie NX60 that I love, but it would be sooo much better if it had a 40 GB drive in it. This way, I wouldn't need an iPod to play music, or a Archos AV Jukebox to play music and video. The screens on the newer generation PDA are beautiful, so we don't need improvment there to watch movies on it. So here is what I want:

  • All current Palm OS 5/6 features (i.e. all PIM features)

  • Ability to sync with my mac. :)

  • 40/60/80 GB harddrive (for current times)

  • better movie and music playing apps from the manufactor (not just 3rd party that i have to buy seperately)

  • GPS

  • GPRS/3G support - and ability to sync over it

  • bluetooth

  • WiFi

  • Very long battery life - especially when watching movies.

  • 1.3M+ pixel camera that can also caputre video. with integrated flash.

  • Probably not very realistic right now, but: It has a video projector on it that can project an image up to 30" wide. This would be very useful for a business person (as well as someone who just wants to project a movie on to a wall...hehe). You could just have a presentation on your PDA and project it onto the wall.

  • Able to make free VoIP phone calls like the Nintendo DS over WiFi

Nice to haves:

  • It runs Mac OS X

  • It is made by Apple...:)

  • Plugs into my head so I can just think and it will do what I want.

So that is what I want...what do YOU want?
